In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel engines and equipment. Your expertise will ensure that our fleet and machinery operate efficiently, safely, and reliably. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse industrial equipment, heavy trucks, and farm machinery, contributing to the seamless operation of our operations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mechanical background, hands-on experience with heavy equipment, and a passion for vehicle maintenance and repair. Duties Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems using schematics and technical manuals Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, alignments, and fluid checks to keep equipment in optimal condition Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs Repair heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery ensuring compliance with safety standards Troubleshoot electrical issues related to automotive electrical systems and perform soldering or wiring repairs as needed Conduct inspections on vehicle systems for wear and tear; replace shocks & struts, brakes, shocks & struts; and perform wheel alignments for trucks and trailers Maintain detailed service records including shift reports, incident logs, maintenance schedules, and repair documentation Assist in heavy lifting tasks using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols Experience Proven dealership or heavy equipment repair experience with a strong background in diesel mechanics Hands-on experience working with Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery brands preferred Skilled in reading schematics for electrical systems and mechanical diagrams for complex repairs Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery is highly desirable Knowledge of automotive diagnostics tools and techniques for troubleshooting engine performance issues Familiarity with welding techniques including soldering for electrical repairs or metal fabrication projects Mechanical knowledge encompassing transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, suspension components, and vehicle systems repair Prior service technician experience working on truck engines or vehicle maintenance for commercial drivers is advantageous Join us to be part of a vibrant team dedicated to excellence in vehicle maintenance!
