In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles prioritizing our Volumetric Concrete Trucks. //on-demandconcrete.com/ Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and air brake components using schematics and advanced diagnostic tools. Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on volumetric trucks and fleet vehicles to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan. Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues related to suspensions, alignments, powertrains, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and electrical wiring. Repair or replace faulty parts using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to restore equipment functionality efficiently. Service a variety of heavy equipment by performing brake repairs, tire services, welding repairs, and component replacements. Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Assist in the assembly of new equipment or components as needed; support heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate rigging techniques. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical diagnostics, and air brake systems. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex issues on diverse equipment types. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering to repair or modify parts as required. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as front end loaders or forklifts safely and efficiently when necessary for repairs or inspections. Excellent service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members and management about repair needs or technical issues. We provide ongoing training opportunities within the Volumetric and Fleet vehicles to keep your skills sharp while supporting your career growth. Schedule Monday-Friday 6am-4pm, Saturdays as needed Qualifications Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a diesel mechanic/technician working on medium- or heavy-duty trucks or comparable equipment. Diesel Technician certification required , such as ASE Diesel certification or an equivalent recognized diesel technician certification. Experience with volumetric concrete trucks, concrete mixers, construction equipment, or vocational trucks strongly preferred . Strong knowledge of diesel engines, air brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, drivetrains, and emissions/aftertreatment systems. Ability to use diagnostic scan tools, multimeters, pressure gauges, hydraulic testing equipment, and standard shop equipment. Ability to read wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, fault-code information, and service documentation. Welding and fabrication experience is a plus. Must provide or maintain an appropriate set of professional mechanic hand tools. Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred . Ability to safely lift, move, and handle heavy components and work in, under, and around commercial trucks and construction equipment. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes rather than simply replace parts. Dependable, safety-focused, organized, and able to work independently in a fast-paced fleet environment.
Pay:
$35.00 - $40.00 per hour
