Trans-System, Inc. is looking for an experienced Diesel Fleet Technician to keep our trucks and equipment safe, reliable, and road-ready. If you enjoy diagnosing problems, turning a wrench, and working on heavy-duty equipment, we'd like to hear from you. This is a full-time, 4-day workweek with 10-hour shifts, including the weekend. You'll work as part of a team responsible for preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on our company fleet. What You'll Do Perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance services, and repairs on company trucks and equipment. Diagnose and repair air brake systems, ABS systems, and other mechanical issues. Perform basic electrical diagnostics and repairs. Troubleshoot equipment issues and identify the cause of mechanical and electrical problems. Inspect, install, and replace tires and wheels as needed. Identify minor equipment discrepancies and complete necessary repairs. Report major mechanical issues to the supervisor and make repairs as directed. Complete accurate documentation of inspections, repairs, and corrective actions on job repair orders. Perform maintenance and repairs on yard equipment, shop equipment, and tools. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow established safety procedures and industry best practices. Work independently while also communicating effectively with other members of the maintenance team. Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have experience working on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, or other diesel-powered equipment and be comfortable diagnosing and repairing mechanical, air, brake, and electrical systems.
Preferred:
Previous experience as a diesel mechanic, diesel technician, fleet mechanic, truck mechanic, or heavy-duty equipment technician . Previous experience working in a commercial truck or fleet maintenance shop. Experience in the trucking or transportation industry . Diesel or automotive technical training, vocational education, or related coursework. CDL or other relevant industry certifications. Why Work at Trans-System?
