Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brake systems using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and advanced diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and construction machinery to ensure optimal performance. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs. Troubleshoot equipment issues including electrical diagnostics, hydraulic system failures, suspension problems, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy-duty trucks tractor-trailers, Bobtails, and equipment, belly dumps/side dumps to minimize downtime. Replace or repair components such as brakes, transmissions, tires (including tire service), suspensions, and air systems with precision. Operate heavy equipment safely during maintenance procedures or testing phases to verify repairs or system functionality. Maintain detailed service records, diagnostic reports, repair logs, and compliance documentation to ensure transparency and accountability. Qualifications Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership or heavy equipment service background preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and schematics. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering. Ability to perform electrical diagnostics using OEM tools; experience with HVAC systems is a plus. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic scanners, and heavy lifting equipment for repairs. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation is advantageous for troubleshooting operational issues effectively. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members or clients. Valid certifications related to diesel engine repair or heavy equipment maintenance are highly desirable; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is expected. Ability to work in physically demanding environments requiring manual labor such as lifting heavy parts or equipment components.
