Overview We are seeking a motivated Diesel Technician to join our team and keep our fleet running smoothly. In this role, you will perform maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on a variety of heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment. Your expertise will ensure our operations remain efficient and reliable, supporting our commitment to excellent service. Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on diesel trucks, heavy equipment, and farm machinery to ensure optimal performance. Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, automotive electrical systems, and diagnostic tools; perform necessary repairs promptly. Repair and replace transmissions, brakes, suspensions, shocks & struts, hydraulics, air brake systems, and other mechanical components. Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet operational needs. Perform vehicle alignment, tire service, wheel balancing, and suspension repairs to maintain safety standards. Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed; interpret schematics for complex system troubleshooting. Assist with heavy lifting and equipment maintenance tasks to support fleet readiness. Skills Proven dealership experience or extensive heavy equipment mechanics background. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and vehicle electrical systems. Skilled in automotive diagnostics, welding (including soldering), fabrication, and the use of hand tools and power tools. Experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other industrial equipment. Ability to read schematics accurately for troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues. Excellent customer service skills when interacting with drivers or team members regarding vehicle repairs. Physical ability for heavy lifting and performing maintenance tasks in various environments.
