Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and dependable Diesel & Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, repair, and service our fleet of diesel trucks, construction equipment, and landscape/site-development equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience of troubleshooting diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, drivetrains, brakes, and heavy equipment and will be capable of performing both preventative maintenance and major repairs. This position requires someone who can work independently, accurately diagnose equipment problems, and help keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently with minimal downtime. Primary Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related systems. Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services on trucks and heavy equipment. Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, hoses, valves, and fittings. Troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems using diagnostic equipment. Repair and maintain construction and landscape equipment, including: Excavators and mini excavators Skid steers and compact track loaders Wheel loaders Trenchers Dump trucks Diesel trucks and trailers Mowers and landscape equipment Small engines and miscellaneous construction equipment Perform brake, steering, suspension, drivetrain, cooling-system, and air-conditioning repairs. Perform basic welding and fabrication when necessary. Inspect equipment to identify potential problems before breakdowns occur. Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform field repairs when necessary. Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records. Order or identify required parts and communicate repair needs to management. Maintain an organized inventory of commonly used parts, filters, fluids, and repair supplies. Keep shop, tools, service vehicles, and work areas clean and organized. Follow OSHA requirements and company safety procedures. Help establish and maintain a preventative-maintenance schedule for company vehicles and equipment. Communicate with supervisors and equipment operators regarding equipment problems and completed repairs. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. 3+ years of experience repairing diesel trucks, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or similar heavy equipment. Strong knowledge of diesel engines and preventative maintenance. Experience diagnosing hydraulic and electrical systems. Ability to read wiring diagrams, service manuals, and hydraulic schematics. Ability to use diagnostic scanners, multimeters, pressure gauges, and standard mechanic diagnostic equipment. Welding and fabrication experience preferred. Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. CDL is a plus but not required unless needed for company vehicles. ASE, manufacturer, or heavy-equipment certifications are a plus. Must be able to safely lift and handle parts, tools, and equipment associated with heavy mechanical work. Preferred Experience Experience servicing equipment from manufacturers such as: John Deere Caterpillar Bobcat Kubota CASE New Holland Toro Ford Chevrolet Dodge Experience working with landscape construction, irrigation, civil/sitework, or commercial construction equipment is especially desirable. Pay:

$30.00 - $38.00 per hour
