About the Role We're hiring a Fleet Mechanic - Diesel to join our in-house shop team, keeping our fleet of heavy construction equipment and operator machinery running strong. You'll handle everything from major mechanical overhauls to hydraulic repairs and preventative maintenance, playing a key role in getting equipment back out the door quickly. Work is performed primarily in our covered shop bay, which is not climate-controlled, so expect exposure to South Florida's seasonal heat and humidity. What You'll Do

• Service and repair construction operator equipment, including excavators, mini-excavators, ride-on and walk-behind concrete buggies, loaders, dozers, skid steers, and compaction equipment .
• Diagnose, repair, and overhaul engines and powertrain components (with diesel experience preferred, including fuel systems, turbochargers, cooling systems, and emissions/DEF systems).
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, including pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, and hoses.
• Perform major component repair/replacement per OEM specifications and torque/service standards.
• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance (fluid/filter changes, greasing, belt/hose inspection, undercarriage checks) per OEM intervals.
• Prioritize and sequence repair work to minimize equipment downtime, especially units with pending rentals, and communicate parts needs proactively to avoid work stoppages.
• Maintain an organized work bay and accurate, timely work order documentation (labor hours, parts used, root cause). What We're Looking For
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience as a mechanic/technician working heavily on construction and operator equipment (excavators, buggies, loaders, dozers, etc.).
• Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, and drivetrains; ASE or manufacturer certifications a plus.
• Diesel machinery experience preferred.
• Ability to read OEM service manuals, hydraulic schematics, and torque specifications.
• Own set of hand tools (shop tools and lifting equipment provided).
• Strong sense of urgency — understands that idle equipment doesn't generate revenue.
• Commitment to safe handling and disposal of fluids and hazardous materials.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift and carry parts and tools up to 75 lbs, with team lifting or equipment assistance for heavier items, plus frequent standing, kneeling, and bending.
• Regular exposure to a shop environment that is not climate-controlled, including heat, humidity, noise, and fumes.
• Use of required PPE, including gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection. Schedule & Pay

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Pay:

$30 to $40/hour, based on experience
