About the
Position:
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of trucks, heavy equipment, and specialized pavement-marking machinery. The ideal candidate has strong diesel mechanical experience, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can keep equipment operating safely and reliably in a fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel-powered trucks and heavy equipment. Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, and suspension components. Maintain and repair pavement-marking equipment, striping machines, and related support equipment. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using appropriate diagnostic tools. Perform routine oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and scheduled maintenance. Respond to equipment breakdowns and make field repairs when necessary. Maintain accurate service and repair records. Inspect equipment for safety and operational issues before it is placed into service. Coordinate with field crews and management to minimize equipment downtime. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and work environment. Follow all company safety policies and applicable DOT and equipment regulations. Qualifications 3+ years of experience as a diesel or heavy-equipment mechanic preferred. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical components. Experience working on trucks, construction equipment, or specialized machinery. Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs independently. Welding and fabrication experience is a plus. CDL or other applicable certifications are a plus. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to work outdoors and occasionally respond to equipment issues in the field. Ability to lift, bend, climb, and perform physical tasks associated with equipment maintenance. What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience. Full-time, year-round employment. Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
