Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty equipment. Duties Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and other heavy equipment components using schematics and technical manuals. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance. Fabricate parts and modify equipment using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs. Operate heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and farm machinery to conduct repairs or move equipment safely. Utilize automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues accurately and implement effective repair solutions promptly. Conduct electrical repairs and troubleshooting on heavy equipment and automotive systems to ensure reliable operation. Maintain detailed service records of all repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities for accountability and future reference. Experience Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in heavy diesel engine repair and automotive diagnostics. Dealership experience is highly desirable for familiarity with manufacturer-specific protocols. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering is preferred. Knowledge of schematics for electrical systems, hydraulics, air brakes, transmissions, HVAC systems, suspension components, and alignment procedures. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and service technology to perform repairs efficiently. Experience working with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and tractor-trailers. Ability to lift heavy components safely during maintenance tasks; familiarity with tire service procedures is a plus. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients alike.
