Full Job Description Job Description:
Columbus Quarry, LLC in Fortson, GA is hiring an experienced heavy equipment diesel mechanic to work on site at our plant located at 3001 Smith Road.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose, repair and maintain diesel engines and related systems in heavy duty equipment used in aggregate production which includes engine, hydraulics, electronics, and fuel systems. Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting mechanical issues, replace faulty parts, and ensure engines operate efficiently and meet safety standards. Service, grease, lube all mobile equipment Ensure correct and accurate documentation is completed daily and monthly regarding all mobile equipment Other duties as required We are an Equal Opportunity Employer Comprehensive Benefits to include: Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, Life,; Paid Time Off as early as 3 months of employment; 401(k) Plan with a match
Experience and Skills:
Qualifications Previous experience working on diesel or heavy construction equipment is required Excellent troubleshooting skills. Troubleshooting of fuel systems, hydraulic and hydrostatic systems, circuit faults, etc. Inspect diesel and related equipment for safety and compliance issues. Attention to detail to accurately complete tasks, ensuring that no elements are overlooked Ability to work with others or own your own with little supervision Solid mechanical understanding of mobile equipment Able to work outside in all types of weather conditions Ability to work overtime as needed
