Job Description

DIESEL MECHANIC
Union Compress Warehouse of Cordele is the largest independent cotton warehouse in the Southeast and provides warehousing services and storage for commercial customers. Financially stable, growing and with over 30 years of experience, we have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Diesel Mechanic in Cordele, GA. As a member of the Union Compress team, you will have the support to excel at work and the resources to build a career that may exceed your expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspects and repairs vehicles with diesel engines. Interprets diagnostic test results accurately. Writes detailed inspection reports and repair plans. Collaborates with other diesel mechanics. Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts. Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines and other associated parts. Conducting field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown. Completing oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment and brake checks. Completes test drives to make the vehicle runs correctly. Cleaning of equipment and other areas as required. Ensure work area and methods used in carrying out job duties meet safety requirements. Maintain an organized and neat work area. Learn new technical information and techniques to stay current with changing technology.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Availability and willingness to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, evenings and weekends. Must be able to bend, stand, and walk throughout the day. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
