Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle maintenance and repair, particularly with diesel engines. This role is essential for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet, which includes a variety of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and maintaining equipment to the highest standards. Duties Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics on diesel engines and related systems. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks. Execute repairs on various components including brakes, tires, and electrical systems. Fabricate parts as needed to ensure optimal performance of machinery. Service farm machinery and other heavy equipment to maintain operational efficiency. Utilize welding skills for repairs and modifications when necessary. Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used. Collaborate with service technicians to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues. Ensure compliance with safety regulations while performing heavy lifting and operating machinery. Experience Proven experience in automotive repair, specifically with diesel engines. Familiarity with vehicle maintenance practices and service techniques. Experience in heavy lifting and working with large machinery is preferred. Skills in welding and fabrication are advantageous. Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment is a plus. Previous experience in tire service or brake repair is desirable.
