What You'll Do Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and related systems Perform troubleshooting on electrical, fuel, cooling, drivetrain, hydraulic, and aftertreatment systems Complete preventative maintenance and major component repairs Use diagnostic software, technical manuals, and computerized troubleshooting tools Identify root causes of equipment failures and recommend repair solutions Maintain accurate service documentation and repair records Work safely and efficiently while delivering high-quality workmanship What We're Looking For Previous experience as a diesel technician, diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, fleet mechanic, truck technician, or related role Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills Ability to diagnose and repair diesel-powered equipment Experience with electronic diagnostics and repair software is preferred Commitment to safety, quality, and customer service Valid driver's license required Preferred Qualifications OEM certifications (Detroit Diesel, Cummins, Allison, Volvo, MTU, or similar) Technical school or diesel technology training CDL or willingness to obtain one Advanced diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting experience Why Technicians Choose Interstate Power Systems Competitive pay based on experience and skill level Shift opportunities available PTO starting on Day One Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits 401(k) with company match OEM training and certification opportunities Uniforms provided Tool and PPE reimbursement programs Career advancement opportunities Stable, year-round work with a respected industry leader At Interstate Power Systems, your experience is valued, your development is supported, and your work makes an impact every day.
