Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with the ability to work on a variety of heavy equipment. This role requires mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent service. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring all equipment is operating safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including but not limited to transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, and suspension systems. Diagnose mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics. Conduct inspections on construction equipment, dozers, loaders, excavators, tractor-trailers, and other industrial equipment. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and assembly tasks. Maintain accurate records of all services performed and parts used. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety standards. Operate heavy equipment as needed during repair processes. Requirements Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role in automotive repair or service technician capacity. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines and related systems (HVAC, brake repair, alignment). Experience working with OEM parts and understanding of schematics for various machinery types. Familiarity with fabrication techniques and heavy lifting requirements associated with equipment repair. Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery safely. Excellent troubleshooting skills with a focus on heavy equipment diagnostics. Effective communication skills for and teamwork. Willingness to learn new techniques and stay updated with industry advancements. Candidates with specialized skills in welding or soldering will be given preference.
