Job Description
Clean Harbors is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lead Diesel Mechanic to oversee operations within our automotive maintenance division. This role is crucial for maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our fleet of service vehicles and heavy equipment, which play a pivotal role in our mission to provide top-tier environmental and industrial services across North America. As a leader in protecting the environment while tackling complex industrial challenges, we are committed to sustainability and safety in all our operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the operational capabilities of vehicles and equipment, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. Responsibilities Supervise and lead a team of mechanics and technicians in the maintenance and repair of diesel engines, heavy-duty machinery, and other equipment. Schedule and oversee regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs to ensure optimal fleet reliability and performance. Diagnose complex mechanical issues and provide accurate solutions quickly and efficiently. Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety guidelines during the handling and disposal of hazardous materials. Manage inventory of parts and supplies, forecast needs, and control budgetary expenditures. Maintain meticulous records of maintenance work, repairs, and schedules. Collaborate with other departments to improve internal processes and enhance overall operational efficiency. Required Skills Expert knowledge of diesel engine mechanics and heavy machinery. Strong leadership skills and experience in team management. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software specific to heavy equipment. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
