Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of heavy-duty construction, industrial, and agricultural equipment. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, air brakes, and suspension components using schematics and diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and construction machinery to ensure optimal performance. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to meet OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. Troubleshoot equipment issues through electrical diagnostics and automotive diagnostics techniques to identify root causes quickly. Service and repair power tools, HVAC systems on equipment, tire services, brake repairs, and perform alignment procedures for heavy machinery. Maintain detailed service records and complete all necessary documentation for repairs performed. Assist with assembly of new equipment or parts following schematics and technical manuals. Support heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly and offering technical advice when needed. Experience Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic within a dealership or heavy equipment environment. Strong background in construction equipment servicing, including excavators, cranes, loaders, and farm machinery. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, hydraulics troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs. Familiarity with OEM specifications and schematics for various brands such as Caterpillar or similar heavy-duty equipment manufacturers. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures for tractor-trailers or similar large vehicles is preferred. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to safety standards. Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to use power tools and hand tools effectively.
