- $39 an hour Benefits Health insurance Qualifications Diesel engine system repair Vehicle inspections Customer communication Air conditioning unit repair Diesel mechanics Bus servicing Compressor maintenance and repair Automotive air conditioning repair Diesel truck repair Pneumatic system maintenance Automotive scheduled maintenance Vehicle HVAC system repair Bus repair Diesel engine diagnostics Diesel engine brake system servicing Full Job Description Diesel Mechanic Chicago, IL Shift•2nd and 3rd Shifts Available Pay•$27•$39 per hour Requirements Servicing of gasoline and diesel powered buses from basic maintenance and minor repairs to full vehicle service Diagnose mechanical defects and carries out a preventive maintenance program Service and maintain brakes, air compressors, fuel systems, ignitions, HVAC systems Service and maintain vehicle air conditioning units Inspects and repairs charter buses per DOT requirements Education and/or
Work Experience Requirements:
3+ years Diesel Truck or Bus Experience Bus experience, International Truck/Bus preferred Must have own set of tools Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion in a timely mannerPhysical Requirements:
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance as attendance is an essential function of the position Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.Job Type:
