The ideal candidate will bring a strong mechanical background, solid safety practices, and a hands-on approach to ensuring the operational readiness, safety, and regulatory compliance of our fleet. safety standards. Key Responsibilities Vehicle Maintenance & FMCSA Compliance Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, gas-powered vehicles, and small engine equipment. Perform routine preventive maintenance on trucks, pressure-washing equipment, and small engines. Respond to driver-reported defects (DVIRs) and complete required repairs, certifying vehicles as safe and compliant. Maintain brakes, steering, suspension, lighting, air systems, and drivetrain components in compliance with

safety regulations. Use diagnostic software to interpret fault codes and perform repairs. Perform welding and fabrication as needed to support vehicle maintenance. Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records for DOT audits and inspections. Repair Documentation & Workflow Management Complete work orders and document repairs, parts usage, labor hours, and DVIR-related compliance tasks in fleet maintenance software. Track and close DVIR-related repairs to ensure compliance and operational readiness. Prioritize repair tasks based on operational needs while working independently. Safety & Work Environment Maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant workspace. Follow all company repair procedures, safety policies, and equipment-handling guidelines. Work safely with heavy equipment, power tools, and moving vehicles, indoors and outdoors, in varied weather conditions. Maintain awareness of hazards when working under vehicles or in confined spaces. Team Collaboration & Communication Communicate repair status, maintenance needs, and safety concerns to operations management. Assist or mentor junior mechanics when needed. Collaborate with teammates to ensure timely and compliant fleet maintenance. Work Environment Work is performed in a fleet maintenance garage and outdoor environments. The role involves exposure to mechanical tools, power equipment, engine exhaust, and cleaning systems. May be required to work in varied weather conditions. Physical Demands Must be able to lift and carry parts and equipment in excess of 50 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and working in tight or low-clearance areas. Ability to work under vehicles or in awkward positions during repairs. Must maintain awareness of surroundings and safety hazards. Schedule and Availability Full-time position 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM plus either Saturday or Sunday as part of the regular work schedule Schedule during training is Monday through Friday 5:00 AM - 1:00 PM Travel Primarily onsite work with minimal local travel as needed to support operational needs. Required Qualifications 2-3 years experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic OR equivalent hands-on experience Experience with oil changes, fluid maintenance, filters, belts, hoses, and basic brake work Experience with gas engines and small engines (like pressure washers, generators, or light equipment) Valid driver's license with a clean driving record High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Ability to follow diagnostic procedures, interpret basic gauges and codes, and perform minor repairs Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work alongside senior technicians Knowledge of

vehicle safety standards and compliance requirements Preferred Qualifications Post-secondary training or certification in mechanics ASE Certification (current or previous) 609 Qualification (EPA Refrigerant Recovery Certification) Class A or B Commercial Driver's License Exposure to medium/heavy truck drivetrain, suspension, or air brakes Welding or fabrication experience Compensation and Benefits Position will begin with a 60-day training period at $31.00 per hour. Upon successful completion of the training period, compensation will be reviewed and may be adjusted within the annual salary range of $55,000-$78,000 based on demonstrated proficiency, performance, and business needs.
