Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems across various heavy equipment and vehicles. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, shocks & struts replacement, and general vehicle upkeep to ensure reliability and safety. Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical issues accurately and efficiently. Operate heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely while adhering to all safety protocols. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, soldering techniques, or other fabrication methods. Assist with equipment assembly, maintenance schedules, and preventive care to minimize downtime and extend machinery lifespan. Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair needs clearly to clients or team members and ensuring their satisfaction with the work performed. Experience Proven dealership experience or background in heavy equipment mechanics is highly preferred. Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and mechanical systems repair is essential. Familiarity with heavy truck repair—including diesel engine repair—and industrial equipment such as forklifts or farm machinery is advantageous. Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently while demonstrating mechanical knowledge of hydraulics, HVAC systems in vehicles, suspension systems, and power tools usage. Experience in welding or fabrication techniques to modify or repair parts is a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to perform heavy lifting safely when necessary.
