Job Overview:
We are seeking a Mechanic Helper or skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel engines and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with diesel engines and vehicles
- Repair or replace faulty components, such as fuel systems, transmissions, and exhaust systems
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify problems and make necessary repairs
- Weld and fabricate parts as needed
- Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals
- Utilize power tools, hand tools, and air brake systems for repairs
- Conduct tire services, including rotations, replacements, and repairs
- Assemble and disassemble engines for repair or rebuilding
- Solder electrical connections when necessary
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or degree in diesel mechanics preferred
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and components
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals
- Skilled in welding, fabricating, soldering, and using power tools
- Familiarity with air brake systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
