Job Overview:
We are seeking a Mechanic Helper or skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel engines and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.
Duties:
  • Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with diesel engines and vehicles
  • Repair or replace faulty components, such as fuel systems, transmissions, and exhaust systems
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify problems and make necessary repairs
  • Weld and fabricate parts as needed
  • Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals
  • Utilize power tools, hand tools, and air brake systems for repairs
  • Conduct tire services, including rotations, replacements, and repairs
  • Assemble and disassemble engines for repair or rebuilding
  • Solder electrical connections when necessary
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or degree in diesel mechanics preferred
  • Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and components
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals
  • Skilled in welding, fabricating, soldering, and using power tools
  • Familiarity with air brake systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
