Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. Responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of semi trucks and trailers. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of machinery used across various industries, including transportation, construction, and agriculture. This is a smaller family owned repair shop which prides itself on local customers and high quality work. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components using schematics and specialized tools. Replace or repair vehicle systems including brakes, suspensions, shocks & struts, air brakes, HVAC systems, and alignment components. Conduct routine maintenance tasks to keep trucks in top condition. Utilize automotive electrical system repair techniques for troubleshooting complex electrical issues in trucks. Maintain detailed service records and follow safety protocols during all repair activities to ensure compliance with industry standards. Skills Diesel technician degree or certificate preferred or minimum 2 years experience in the industry. Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and vehicle electrical systems. Proficient in reading schematics and technical manuals for complex machinery. Familiarity with automotive repair tools including power tools, hand tools, alignment equipment, and welding apparatus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail.
