Diesel Mechanic Technician (Sun-Thu or Tue-Sat) Gully Transportation, Quincy, IL Gully Transportation is hiring experienced Diesel Mechanic Technicians at our Quincy, IL shop. We're looking for certified technicians with an advanced understanding of today's semi trucks who can diagnose problems quickly, fix them right the first time, and keep our fleet moving safely. This is a full-time position with a set schedule. Choose a Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday work week. What you'll do: Perform preventive maintenance and routine service on tractors and trailers Inspect equipment and identify worn or faulty parts Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and engine issues Build a repair plan before starting work Follow checklists and shop procedures on every repair Enter and maintain accurate maintenance records Track parts and inventory when needed Clean and maintain tools and shop equipment Keep your work area safe and organized Work well with the rest of the shop team Follow all safety rules and regulations What we're looking for: Advanced knowledge of major semi truck makes, including Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, International, Volvo, and Mack Strong experience with Cummins, PACCAR, and Detroit Diesel engines Working knowledge of diagnostic software such as Cummins Insite, PACCAR Davie4, and Detroit DiagnosticLink ASE Medium/Heavy Truck certifications, manufacturer certifications, or other industry certifications preferred DOT annual inspection and brake inspector qualifications a plus 3+ years of diesel repair experience preferred Your own tools, or the ability to get them A valid driver's license High school diploma or GED 18 years of age or older Able to pass a drug screen Strong attention to detail
