Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our semi-truck repair shop team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity for experienced mechanics who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about heavy equipment maintenance. Your expertise will directly contribute to keeping our fleet reliable and operational, supporting the success of our operations. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and electrical systems using schematics and automotive diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on semi-trucks, including engine overhaul, air brake systems, shocks & struts, wheel alignments, and HVAC systems. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery safely and efficiently during maintenance or repair tasks. Service farm machinery, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, and other large vehicles by performing tire service, wheel balancing, suspension adjustments, and general vehicle maintenance. Follow detailed schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues accurately. Ensure all repairs adhere to safety standards and company policies while maintaining a high level of quality workmanship. Skills Proven experience working in a dealership environment or heavy equipment repair shop with strong mechanical knowledge. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques. Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery. Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical manuals for complex repairs. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, hydraulic systems, alignment equipment, and HVAC systems related to vehicle maintenance. Knowledge of diesel engine repair procedures including transmissions, air brake systems, shocks & struts, and suspension components. Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Physical ability for heavy lifting and performing manual tasks in various environmental conditions.
