Job Description
About us We are a professional and fast-paced diesel semi truck and trailer repair service offering 24-hour mobile repair to Northwest Indiana and surrounding counties.
Overview:
- We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in maintaining and repairing diesel engines and vehicles. If you have a passion for working with diesel-powered machinery and possess the required skills, we encourage you to apply. 1099 or W2 position. Candidate must have previous semi truck and trailer repair experience.
Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines and vehicles
- Diagnose mechanical issues and develop appropriate solutions
- Repair or replace faulty components in diesel engines
- Inspect, test, and troubleshoot diesel engine systems
- Fabricate parts as needed for repairs
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment effectively
- Work on various systems including hydraulics, air brakes, shocks, struts, forklifts, HVAC, and Caterpillar equipment
- Clean shop area
- Any other duties outlined by manager
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role
- Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical issues and performing repairs
- Knowledge of diesel engine systems and components
- Familiarity with a wide range of tools including hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment
- Ability to fabricate parts when necessary
- Experience working with hydraulics, air brakes, shocks struts, forklifts, HVAC systems, and Caterpillar equipment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
