Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic team as an Industrial Engine/Generator Technician, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing a variety of diesel and gas-powered generators and other equipment. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a growth mindset and persistence to deliver critical diesel engine, generator, and industrial power system maintenance across Indiana and the Chicagoland area, minimizing operational downtime and restoring total reliability when our clients need it most. You will work in a demanding, fast-paced environment, tackling small and large complex challenges head-on, independently, with team structure, and as a group. You will utilize your mechanical knowledge, technical expertise, and professionalism to establish and maintain a service experience that is unmatched. What you'll do Diagnose and repair diesel and gas engines in various industrial equipment. Utilize schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and conduct diagnostics effectively. Provide on-call readiness for 24/7/365 emergency service response. Utilize windows PC-based diagnostic software to properly diagnose and make efficient repairs to customer's equipment. Execute fabrication tasks as needed, employing welding skills for repairs and modifications. Operate various tools and equipment such as forklifts and power tools safely and efficiently. Perform regular maintenance on customer equipment and company trucks. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients about repairs and maintenance needs. Collaborate with team members to complete assembly tasks and assist in equipment repair projects. Complete all paperwork with detailed reports on a daily basis. Basic qualifications Minimum 2 years experience as a mechanic with a strong background in diesel engine repair and engine theory of operation. Own and maintain a full and complete inventory of tools, including but not limited to complete socket and ratchet set in 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" drive, full wrench set up to 1" or 24mm, air/electric impacts, drills, grinders, pry bars, pipe wrenches, and electrical meters and basic electrical testing devices. Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment relevant to engine and electronics repair. High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent. Preferred qualifications Experience working as a service technician with heavy equipment and diesel engines Field Service experience Technical school graduate is a plus. Familiarity with Tier 4 Diesel emissions is preferred. Knowledge of generators and electrical systems is advantageous.
