•7:30 PM Full-Time | 4-Day Work Week | Overtime Available Diesel Mechanic Jobs in Indianapolis, IN Crete Carrier is hiring experienced Diesel Mechanics and Diesel Technicians in Indianapolis, IN. If you have experience with truck repair, trailer maintenance, diesel engine diagnostics, preventive maintenance, or fleet maintenance, we want to hear from you. What You'll Do As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing Class 8 trucks, trailers, and refrigeration units to ensure maximum fleet uptime and safety. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance services including oil changes, fluid checks, PM inspections, and filter replacements Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, steering, and air systems Troubleshoot mechanical and electronic issues using diagnostic software and OEM systems Repair and maintain refrigerated trailers (reefer units) Perform DOT inspections and safety checks Complete maintenance documentation and repair records accurately Work with a team focused on safety, quality repairs, and operational excellence Equipment You'll Service Trucks Freightliner Kenworth Ottawa Terminal Tractors Autocar Trailers Wabash Great Dane Utility Systems & Components Diesel engines Brake systems Electrical systems Air systems Suspension components Refrigeration (reefer) units Minimum Qualifications Required Diesel mechanic, diesel technician, truck repair, or trailer repair experience Ability to diagnose and repair heavy-duty truck and trailer equipment Experience using diagnostic software and troubleshooting tools Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship Basic mechanic hand tools Preferred Experience with Class 8 trucks Trailer maintenance experience DOT inspection knowledge ASE, T2-T8, or equivalent certifications Why Join Crete Carrier?
