In this energetic role, you will leverage your mechanical expertise to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our diesel fleet. Your hands-on skills will keep operations running smoothly while providing exceptional service to our customers. We are a family run business since 1979. We transport diesel fuel and gasoline to our customers by tank wagon and semi. We prefer second shift hours, and a Tuesday-Saturday schedule, however this is open for discussion. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and air brake systems using OEM schematics and service manuals. Conduct and log routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, and electrical system checks to maximize equipment lifespan. Fabricate and modify parts or components using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs. Interpret technical schematics and electrical diagrams to identify faults accurately; perform automotive diagnostics for complex mechanical or electrical problems. Assist with assembly or disassembly of machinery components during repairs or upgrades; perform heavy lifting safely to handle large parts or equipment. Communicate with drivers regarding the repairs and expectations of downtime. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, power tools usage, welding techniques, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and electrical troubleshooting. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; excellent problem-solving skills in mechanical troubleshooting. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks consistently; comfortable working in various environmental conditions. Valid certification in vehicle maintenance or service technician training; additional certifications in welding or Soldering are advantageous.

$35.00 - $40.00 per hour
