Mechanical Laborer is an entry-level, hands-on role that supports mechanical and industrial construction work. This position assists with equipment setting, piping installation, flange bolting, gasket installation, material handling, and grouting preparation once equipment is set level and plumb. JOB DUTIES
Perform preventative maintenance. Conduct A/C Maintenance Competent in diagnosing an repairing internal engine issues. Perform inspections, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment. Utilize vehicle computer electronic systems to diagnose fault codes to initiate repairs. Complete all required paperwork for job tasks that are completed. Provide proper documentation of defects to supervisor and advise the severity of defects. Complete DOT annual inspections as needed. Repair minor defects such as lights, tires, etc. Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards. Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures. In-depth knowledge of truck component systems Focus on preventative and proactive maintenance including a thorough inspection of vehicles and equipment to keep the machinery working as efficiently as possible. Interact with Shop Supervisor and other mechanics/service personnel as necessary to complete work
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of essential job functions and responsibilities Knowledge of tools and mechanical aptitude 5- 10+ years of mechanical & diesel truck mechanic experience Must be able to read and comprehend repair manuals Organizational skills Strong communication skills Must be able to work in the U.S. and possess a valid driver's license 18 years of age required CDL Preferred Pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy and, if applicable, required by DOT regulations Pass background check
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift over 50lbs Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, such as prolonged physical exertion, and may require prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and working in awkward positions, crawling under or climbing on top of equipment. Exposure to noise, heat, dust and fumes as found in a repair facility Ability to constantly work in an outdoor environment, exposed to all weather elements, including extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust and noisy conditions.
