Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel-powered equipment and machinery. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of heavy equipment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery, including excavators, wreckers, forklifts, and tractor-trailers, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills to keep operations running smoothly. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, air brakes, and suspension components using schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty vehicles. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to repair or fabricate parts as needed. Troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently by interpreting electrical diagnostics and automotive diagnostics data to identify root causes. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment to ensure safety standards are met and extend machinery lifespan. Perform tire service, brake repairs, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning) system servicing for various vehicles and machinery. Assist in heavy lifting tasks using cranes or forklifts while adhering to safety protocols; perform welding or fabrication work for custom repairs or modifications. Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings to ensure accurate documentation for compliance and future reference. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge of maintenance, electrical systems, hydraulics, and schematics interpretation. Expertise in diagnosing issues related to diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, suspensions, HVAC systems, and electrical diagnostics. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques and power lifting devices such as cranes or forklifts. Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment problems efficiently using OEM manuals and schematics Capable of working independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments. Pay:
$23.00 - $29.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
