Job Description

Mobile Service Technician - Freightliner Dealer Support The Mobile Service Technician is responsible for performing repair and maintenance work on Freightliner and partner-brand products at customer locations. This position provides dealership-level service on-site and is not a roadside or emergency response role . The techs are provided with a company phone, laptop, and service truck. Tech must supply their own basic tools; specialized tooling is provided by the dealer. Technicians in this role work in both indoor and outdoor environments and are expected to operate independently while maintaining dealership standards for quality, safety, and professionalism. As a customer-facing role, Mobile Service Technicians are expected to build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and represent Stoops in a positive, professional manner always. This role is ideal for technicians who value independence, accountability, customer interaction, and professional growth within a dealership-supported mobile service environment. This is a full-time position and you should expect to work minimum 40 hours per week. Pay range for this position is $30-$45 hourly based on experience and certifications. This position supports Freightliner, Western Star, Autocar, and related components including Cummins, Detroit, and other manufacturer products offered by the dealership.
Key Expectations:
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance at customer sites.
  • Deliver quality dealership service outside the traditional shop environment.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and service staff.
  • Work safely and effectively in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • Accurately document work performed and parts used.
  • Must be proficient with computers and diagnostic software.
Qualifications & Training:
Manufacturer certifications are preferred for Freightliner, Western Star, Autocar, Cummins, Detroit, and related systems. Candidates without current certifications are still encouraged to apply — Stoops provides the opportunity for technicians to become certified on the equipment we sell.
  • CDL is preferred but not required.
  • Locally valid driver's license.
  • Clear motor vehicle record.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work with little to no supervision.
  • Effective customer service skills, self-motivated, and responsible with strong work ethic.
