Fleet Mechanics perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on company fleet vehicles according to DOT and OSHA regulations, with a specific focus on medium and heavy duty, diesel tractor and trailer maintenance and repair.

Job Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete repairs on all types of vehicles.
  
• Perform preventative maintenance within fleet department.
  
• Respond to service calls as required.
  
• Creates work orders in SAP and ensures working times and tasks are logged into computer as well as stock parts pulled from inventory.
• Maintain tools and cleanup work area before end of shift.
  
• Participate in and adhere to the required safety training.
  
• Supports departments by communicating out of service vehicles and down times.

Job Requirements High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum of two years of work experience required.

Previous experience as a mechanic with diesel tractor and trailer equipment preferred.

Experience repairing and diagnosing gasoline or diesel engines, automotive electrical systems and material handling equipment preferred. Knowledge of airbrake and electrical systems and components preferred. Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude. ASE certification preferred.

Valid CDL Class A Driver's License preferred.

May be required to supply automotive hand tools.

Prior experience using pallet jack or forklift preferred. Ability to obtain PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) certification upon hire is required.
