Responsibilities:
Perform all levels of preventive maintenance service on truck and/or heavy equipment; Maintain work area safety and orderly appearance; Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions and/or to ensure that they are working properly; Inspect braking systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, hydraulics and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition; Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment / machinery; Specialize in repair work and troubleshooting. Skills:
Minimum of three (3) years practical experience with truck and/or heavy construction equipment required; Vocational / Technical certification beneficial; Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade required, including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment and power tools; Basic computer skills preferred for data entry into maintenance systems; Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions required; Regular, predictable and full attendance is an essential function of the job; Willingness to work overtime - important. Able to manage shop employees A Valid Driver's License required. Current CDL License preferred or willingness to secure a CDL Open to staggered hours, there are two positions to fill and this can lead to an opportunity to stagger hours (early morning 5am -6am) to get trucks out the door and later morning starts (9-10am to stay until all trucks arrive back safely) Gives options for those that need to be off early or get a later start with kids/family life.
