Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our fleet maintenance team. The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and other transportation equipment to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and experience working with Class 8 trucks and commercial vehicles. What You'll Do

• Perform preventive maintenance services on diesel trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and engine-related issues.
• Repair and replace defective components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company safety regulations.
• Utilize diagnostic software and testing equipment to identify vehicle problems.
• Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately and timely.
• Respond to roadside breakdowns and emergency repair situations as needed.
• Inspect fleet vehicles for safety concerns and recommend necessary repairs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with drivers and fleet management to minimize equipment downtime.
• Monitor inventory of parts, tools, and supplies. What We're Looking For
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and air systems.
• Experience using diagnostic tools and computerized maintenance systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair instructions.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Preferred Qualifications
• ASE Certification (Automotive Service Excellence).
• CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
• Experience servicing Freightliner, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Volvo, Mack, or International trucks.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Previous experience in a logistics, transportation, or fleet environment. Physical Requirements
• Frequently stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and shop environments.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment and parts.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely. Working Conditions
• Shop and yard environment with exposure to noise, chemicals, grease, and moving machinery.
