In this role, the Diesel Mechanic inspects, diagnoses, and repairs diesel engines, drivetrains, electrical systems, brakes, and other components on heavy-duty trucks, buses, and related equipment. Daily responsibilities include performing scheduled and preventive maintenance, completing repair orders, documenting work performed, and following safety and quality standards. The Diesel Mechanic also collaborates with service advisors and parts personnel to identify required parts, communicate repair timelines, and ensure vehicles are returned to operation efficiently. This position may involve road calls, use of diagnostic tools, and occasional overtime to meet customer needs. Qualifications Strong skills in Diesel Mechanics with experience working on heavy-duty trucks, buses, and Heavy Equipment Proficiency in Vehicle Maintenance, including inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs for Class 5-8 vehicles Experience with Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life Ability to use diagnostic software, tools, and service manuals to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a commercial shop environment Relevant technical training or certification in diesel technology or heavy equipment repair preferred Previous experience as a diesel technician or mechanic in a dealership, fleet, or commercial service setting is beneficial Ability to lift and handle heavy components, stand for extended periods, and work in varying shop conditions Reliable work habits, strong attention to detail, and effective communication with team members and customers

$19.14 - $28.00 per hour
