Required drug screenings at random Position Overview Matrana's Produce is seeking a skilled mechanic to support the maintenance and repair of our company fleet. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that our diesel trucks and refrigerated (reefer) units are safe, reliable, and operating efficiently. The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, self-driven, and experienced in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and refrigeration units. Responsibilities Perform diagnostics and repairs on medium duty trucks, reefer units, and MHE equipment Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain fleet vehicles according to safety and performance standards Conduct routine preventive maintenance (e.g., oil changes, brakes, battery checks, tire service) Conduct scheduled vehicle safety checks i.e. twice weekly Dismount, repair, and mount heavy truck tires Read and respond to driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIRs) and repair requests Use diagnostic software (e.g., Jaltest) and tools to analyze and resolve mechanical issues Collaborate with the Facilities Manager on repair schedules and parts procurement Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Document completed work and maintain service recordsQualifications Required:
High school diploma or GED equivalent Minimum 2 years of experience in diesel engine maintenance Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills Proficient in using power and hand tools Ability to read and interpret technical manuals Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and with a teamPreferred:
Associate degree or technical training in diesel technology Advanced certifications in refrigeration or electrical systems Proficiency with computer-based maintenance software Physical Requirements Lift between 30 lbs. and 60 lbs.- Constantly Lift from floor to waist
