Job Description
Defend the Road With Us Coltrain Onsite Fleet Care is a family-owned and operated mobile fleet maintenance company bringing the repair shop directly to our customers. We're hiring a Mobile Fleet Technician to join a team that puts technicians first — with the tools, trust, and support you need to do the job right. What You'll Do As a Mobile Fleet Technician, you'll operate your own fully equipped service truck — a self-contained mobile service center capable of handling 95% of routine repairs and maintenance on-site. Day to day, you will: Perform preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and routine service on commercial fleet vehicles Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and emissions issues on pickups, medium-duty trucks, big rigs, delivery vans, yard spotters, trailers, and reefers Respond to emergency breakdowns and urgent repair calls Perform brake service, filter changes, fluid services, welding and fabrication as needed, and complex diagnostics using premium heavy-duty equipment Work directly with customers at their locations, representing Coltrain with professionalism and expertise Keep accurate service records and maintain your mobile unit, tools, and inventory Follow safety protocols and site controls to protect people and property What We're Looking For Experience as a fleet, diesel, or heavy-duty technician (or a highly motivated learner ready to grow) Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Comfort working independently in the field A customer-first mindset and pride in quality work Valid driver's license with a clean driving record CDL and ASE certifications a plus — not required to start Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in varied weather conditions, and handle the physical demands of fleet repair What You Get Industry-leading pay with overtime opportunities Full benefits package Fully equipped mobile service unit — welders, generators, compressors, diagnostics tools, complete toolsets, and safety equipment Paid training and ASE certification support Real advancement opportunities as we expand into new markets A family-driven culture that values balance, not burnout Stability from a company built for the long haul About Coltrain Coltrain Onsite Fleet Care is built on over 30 years of experience in fleet maintenance.
