Job Description

Diesel / Farm Mechanic 920 John Brown Road, Centreville, MD 21617 $25
  • $38 an hour

  • Full-time Central Sod is looking for a full-time mechanic.
Will be responsible for maintenance on delivery fleet, farm equipment, and specialized turf equipment. You will have a high degree of autonomy and will be able to run the shop as you see fit. Work is performed both in our 3 bay shop, as well as outdoors when equipment breaks down. Work schedule is 5 days a week, generally from 7AM to 4PM, plus every other Saturday morning from 7AM to noon during the season. No Saturday work during winter. Up to 3.5 weeks paid vacation plus approx 10 paid holidays per year. Requirements Hydraulic Systems
  • should be capable of diagnosing and repairing hydraulic hoses, pumps. motors, and cylinders, and also be familiar with design and operation of hydraulic circuits Electrical Systems
  • should be able to repair automotive wiring as required and understand basic electrical theory. Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot CAN based systems a plus. Heavy Truck Maintenance
  • should have experience servicing heavy trucks, including tire work, brakes, and air system. CDL is a plus but not required. Welding
  • proficient in MIG/stick welding steel in all orientations. Computer Skills
  • we use an electronic fleet maintenance system, so basic computer knowledge is required We are looking to hire someone soon, so please call or stop in for an interview!
