Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and energetic Diesel Mechanic to join our team! In this vital role, you will perform maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls on a variety of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure our clients' fleets operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. This position offers the opportunity to work with a broad spectrum of machinery including trucks, industrial equipment, farm machinery, and more. Duties Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using schematics and automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues with diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical components. Perform repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and farm machinery. Repair and replace critical components including shocks & struts, brakes, air brakes systems, wheel alignments, HVAC systems, and powertrain parts. Fabricate parts or modifications using hand tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and power tools to meet specific repair needs. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Assist in assembly or disassembly of equipment during repairs or upgrades; support heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate equipment. Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring client satisfaction with the work completed. Experience Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician within a dealership or fleet maintenance environment. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and suspension components. Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools and schematics for troubleshooting complex issues. Skilled in fabrication processes including welding and soldering; capable of working with power tools effectively. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as excavators or cranes is preferred. Ability to perform tire service, wheel alignments, brake repairs, HVAC servicing, and general vehicle maintenance. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong attention to detail; capable of working independently or as part of a team in fast-paced settings.
