Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including construction machinery, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and vehicle fleets. Your expertise will ensure that all machinery operates efficiently, safely, and reliably to keep our operations running smoothly. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical systems using schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and equipment inspections to prevent breakdowns. Troubleshoot complex issues involving heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and construction machinery. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to ensure proper fit and function during repairs or modifications. Use power tools and electrical diagnostics equipment to identify faults in electrical systems and perform necessary repairs with precision. Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostics conducted for compliance and future reference. Assist with heavy lifting tasks and perform equipment assembly or disassembly during major repairs or upgrades. Experience Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic in dealership environments or industrial settings with a strong background in heavy equipment servicing. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; familiarity with schematics for electrical systems troubleshooting. Knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including excavators, cranes, loaders, bulldozers, and other heavy-duty equipment. Skilled in automotive diagnostics with an emphasis on diesel engine repair and powertrain troubleshooting. Familiarity with OEM parts replacement procedures for Caterpillar, HVAC systems on heavy machinery, air brake systems, steering components, and suspension systems. Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts or excavators is highly desirable to understand operational challenges firsthand. Ability to perform precise alignments and calibrations using specialized tools; adept at working with power tools safely and efficiently.
