Diesel/Automotive Repair Mechanic
Job Overview
We are looking for someone to do mechanical work on our automotive, diesel and paving equipment.
We have a large 3 bay garage in Frederick to work out of.
This job entails all preventative maintenance and repairs on the following:
3 Dump Trucks
1 Day Cab
Several pieces of paving equipment
Several Trailers
Several Equipment Trucks
This is a great opportunity for the right person to build their workshop with a blank canvas.
In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of equipment and machinery to ensure optimal operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and possesses a strong foundation in mechanics, electrical systems, hydraulics, and welding. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues involving hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and high-voltage components.
Repair or replace faulty components on machinery such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motors, pumps.
Use diagnostic tools to identify electrical or mechanical faults.
Conduct welding operations, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Maintain accurate maintenance records
Assist with field service tasks outside the facility when required, providing technical support at job sites or remote locations.
Read and interpret schematics and technical diagrams for complex machinery repairs.
Support the installation of new equipment and upgrades to existing systems following safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
Collaborate with team members to improve maintenance procedures and optimize equipment performance.
Experience
Proven mechanical experience.
Excellent analysis skills for diagnosing issues quickly and accurately.
