Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mobile Diesel Engine Technician with 12-16 years of experience to join our dynamic team of Mobile Technicians. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel engines and equipment used across various industries. Your expertise will ensure that our fleet and machinery operate efficiently, safely, and reliably. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced equipment, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery, in a fast-paced environment that values technical excellence and customer service. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about heavy equipment repair and maintenance. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines on mobile equipment such as excavators, cranes, tractors, and trucks using schematics and diagnostic tools. Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, belt inspections, and fluid checks to ensure optimal engine performance. Conduct repairs on transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and other heavy machinery components. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs. Utilize automotive diagnostics software and electrical testing tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues. Perform wheel alignments, tire services, brake repairs, and assembly of mechanical parts to maintain safety standards. Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed and parts used; ensure all work complies with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications. Skills Proven dealership or heavy equipment service technician experience with a strong mechanical background. Extensive knowledge of diesel engine repair along with familiarity with Caterpillar or similar industrial equipment brands. Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; capable of heavy lifting safely during repairs. Proficient in reading schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams for troubleshooting complex systems. Experience operating heavy machinery including excavators, forklifts, cranes, tractors-trailers, and other farm or industrial equipment. Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures including air brake systems, alignment processes, shocks & struts replacement. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic scanners, HVAC tools, welding equipment and other service-related devices efficiently. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
