What You'll Do:
Diagnose and repair moderate to complex mechanical and electrical problems� Perform engine and transmission tear-downs and overhauls� Perform engine diagnostics and tune-ups� Troubleshoot truck, tractor, trailer, and component systems� Perform failure analysis to identify issues with component parts and systems� Conduct inspections and diagnose minor mechanical issues according to DOT standards� Utilize industry-standard diagnostic software and specialized tools� Weld and fabricate components as needed� Read and interpret technical service manuals� Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records� Communicate with drivers, dispatchers, and management to determine repair needs and priorities� Provide estimated repair completion times� Maintain a clean and organized work area� Follow DOT, EPA, OSHA, federal, and state regulations� Travel within the designated region for service calls and temporary roadside maintenance� Participate in technical training programs� Perform other duties as assigned�
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent� Vocational or technical training in diesel mechanics, welding, or a related field� Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record� Strong knowledge of diesel engines and automotive systems� Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills� Ability to operate and interpret industry-standard diagnostic software for heavy-duty truck tractors� Ability to read and understand technical service manuals� Strong attention to detail� Willingness to learn and work as part of a team� Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed� Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in varying weather conditions� Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and participate in the company's random drug and alcohol program�
