Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Truck and Trailer Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel trucks and trailers. Your expertise will ensure the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of our fleet and machinery. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse equipment including tractor-trailers all while delivering top-notch service that keeps operations running smoothly. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, suspensions, hydraulics, and electrical components using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, wheel alignments, and HVAC system servicing to ensure equipment longevity. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and fabrication techniques to repair or modify trucks, trailers, and heavy machinery. Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery safely and efficiently during repair or installation processes. Interpret technical schematics and mechanical drawings to troubleshoot complex issues across diverse vehicle systems. Perform assembly or disassembly of parts for repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety standards. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Skills Proven experience working in a dealership environment or with heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and electrical diagnostics. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; capable of customizing or repairing equipment components. Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment safely. Ability to read schematics accurately for troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, power lifts, tire service equipment and other maintenance tools.
