Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team, dedicated to ensuring the optimal performance and safety of a diverse fleet of heavy-duty vehicles and construction equipment. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems across various machinery types. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brake components using schematics and diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other construction machinery. Fabricate parts or modify existing components as needed to meet operational specifications. Execute preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues involving suspension systems, alignment, HVAC systems, and power tools. Utilize hand tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and power tools effectively during repairs. Conduct tire services, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and heavy lifting operations safely. Maintain detailed service records and ensure compliance with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) standards. Assist in assembly or disassembly of machinery for repair or refurbishment projects. Support equipment troubleshooting efforts by interpreting schematics and technical manuals accurately. Ensure all work adheres to safety protocols and industry regulations. Skills Proven dealership experience with heavy equipment or automotive repair is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics and repair techniques. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting electrical systems on industrial equipment. Experience with fabrication processes including welding and metalworking. Familiarity with construction equipment servicing such as excavators, cranes, loaders, and tractors. Ability to read schematics accurately for electrical wiring and mechanical systems. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic devices. Knowledge of hydraulics systems management and troubleshooting. Excellent mechanical knowledge across a broad range of heavy machinery components. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or parts replacement. Experience working with OEM parts for automotive repair or industrial equipment maintenance. Knowledge of HVAC systems related to heavy machinery is a plus. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
