$34-$40/hour, based on experience Position Overview A transportation and distribution operation is seeking an experienced Fleet Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs across a commercial vehicle fleet. This position is ideal for a diesel or fleet mechanic with solid experience maintaining tractors, trailers, brakes, electrical systems, suspension, drivetrains, refrigeration equipment, and other heavy-duty vehicle systems. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections on tractors, trailers, and related fleet equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical vehicle issues. Maintain and repair brake, steering, suspension, drivetrain, engine, transmission, electrical, HVAC, and liftgate systems. Support maintenance and repair of refrigerated trailer equipment. Address driver-reported vehicle defects and maintenance concerns. Perform inspections in accordance with applicable transportation and safety requirements. Use computerized diagnostic tools and electrical meters to identify equipment faults. Complete accurate work orders and maintenance documentation. Perform basic welding and fabrication repairs when needed. Maintain a safe, organized, and productive shop environment. Qualifications Previous experience maintaining medium- or heavy-duty trucks, tractors, trailers, or commercial fleet equipment. Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability. Experience with brake, suspension, steering, electrical, and drivetrain systems. Working knowledge of diesel vehicle maintenance and repair. Ability to use diagnostic equipment and electrical testing tools. High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license. Must provide standard personal hand tools.
