Job Description

Join a team as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic in Livonia, Michigan . This is a modern fleet of motor coaches and provide a fast-paced, family-oriented work environment with emphasis on diagnostics and preventative maintenance. You'll work in a well-equipped shop with dedicated coach bays, modern diagnostic software, and a collaborative team of five experienced technicians.
Requirements:
• 3+ recent years of heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining fleet vehicles • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to work • Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills • Diesel engine maintenance and repair experience (Cummins, Detroit, Volvo preferred) • Experience utilizing OEM diagnostic software to troubleshoot faults • Suspension, brake, HVAC, and electrical system repair experience preferred • Motor coach or transit bus experience is preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
• $35.00 - $40.00/hour to start , with higher earning potential for highly skilled technicians • Overtime paid after 40 hours (minimal weekly overtime, approximately 1 hour/week) • $2,000 Sign-On Bonus • 401(k) with 4% company match • 80 hours of paid sick/vacation time (accrued after benefits begin) • Annual boot allowance • Company-provided uniforms with on-site laundry • Employee-paid health coverage (timing currently under review) • Ongoing manufacturer training (MCI, Van Hool)
Shift Schedule:
• Two available shifts: 5:00AM – 1:30PM, Monday to Friday 10:00AM – 6:30PM, Monday to Friday • Shop-based role focused on diagnostics and repairs with occasional fieldwork • No formal on-call requirements #MHA
