Beyond Horizons Tour & Travel is accepting resumes/applications for an additional Full Time Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Mechanic at their Mt Pleasant, MI location, with the following skills and experience and offering the following salary and benefits for this posted position. Diesel Mechanic /Fleet Mechanic Job Summary:
Diesel/Fleet Mechanic performs mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on various company fleet vehicles, gasoline and diesel, according to USDOT and OSHA regulations, with a specific focus on heavy duty, commercial motorcoach buses (MCI, Van Hool, & Temsa).Required Skills and Experience:
Performs inspection, maintenance, & repairs of diesel and gasoline engines. Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems. Utilizes computer electronics systems to interpret failure models. Replaces and/or refurbishes parts. Maintains maintenance logs according to all requirements. Ensures services provided follow all quality standards and safety procedures. Be present for DOT annual inspections on all vehicles. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Reports to a supervisor or manager. Ability to assist with the working set-up of both the motorcoach maintenance bay/garage and the organization and stocking of the parts inventory for the company fleet, including both commercial gasoline and diesel vehicles. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary vocational education strongly preferred. Minimum of one year or recent experience working with diagnostic computer. Requires 2 years of diesel mechanic experience with two years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification. Willingness to attend, successfully complete, and maintain ongoing technical training through an industry specific training program that may require remote learning and/or online learning after hire. Minimum of four years of related experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment and demonstrates proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of:- engines (gas and diesel)
- powertrain to include differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, PTOs and wheel ends
- electrical systems including starters and alternators
- steering systems
- electronics to include ECMs, ECUs, sensors etc.
- engine bolt on items such as turbos, fan clutches, injectors, cooling system etc.
- brake systems including ABS
- suspension systems (spring and air) Must possess own tools (have minimum tool requirement).
Preferred Skills and Experience:
ASE Certifications (Including Master Medium- Heavy Truck Technician) Trade school diploma or certificationCompensation:
Position compensation will be based on the professional experience and technical knowledge of applicant at hire and will be determined by the management of the Company. Position will be a Full-Time position with 40 plus hours a week with occasional opportunity for more. Benefits (after 30 days):- Holiday
