The Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of a diverse line or equipment and trucks (construction, mining, aggregates, etc.). This role plays a critical part in ensuring our equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
Essential Job Functions:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, cranes, skid steers, and other construction machinery. Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, braking systems, and powertrain components. Conduct equipment inspections to identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues. Utilize diagnostic software, tools, and manufacturer service manuals to accurately identify and resolve equipment failures. Occasionally perform field service repairs as needed to minimize project downtime. Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate maintenance records. Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies. Order parts and supplies when necessary. Ensure compliance with all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Stay current on evolving heavy equipment technology and repair practices.Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment components. Completion of a Diesel Technology program preferred. CDL A preferred; minimum CDL B required. Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes. Ability to work independently and in a team environment with changing priorities. Must provide your own basic tools. Strong problem-solving and communication skills.What we offer:
