We are currently seeking a Shop Saw Operator to support our fabrication team by accurately cutting, preparing, and organizing materials for welders and fabricators. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment and takes pride in producing quality work.
Essential Job Functions:
Operate band saws, cold saws, and other cutting equipment to prepare materials for fabrication. Read work orders, cut lists, and shop drawings to determine material requirements. Measure, mark, and cut steel, aluminum, and other materials to precise specifications. Assist welders and fabricators by staging and organizing materials for production. Inspect materials for quality and accuracy before and after cutting. Maintain proper identification and inventory of cut materials. Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment (training provided if needed). Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on saw equipment. Support shop operations and assist with other fabrication-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, or saw operation experience is preferred but not required. Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations. Experience reading blueprints and shop drawings is a plus. Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet throughout the shift. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
