Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment, including construction machinery, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and vehicle fleets. Your expertise will ensure that all machinery operates efficiently, safely, and reliably to support our operations. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, air brakes, suspension, and other critical components using schematics and diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on construction machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) standards. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to ensure proper fit and function. Troubleshoot equipment issues related to heavy equipment operation, HVAC systems, electrical diagnostics, tire service, and alignment. Maintain detailed service records including shift reports, incident reports, repair logs, and inspection documentation. Assist in the assembly and disassembly of complex machinery during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety protocols. Support heavy lifting tasks and perform tire replacements or repairs with proper safety measures. Requirements Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and construction machinery. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, schematics reading, and equipment troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiarity with power tools is essential. Ability to perform diesel engine repair, brake repair, transmission servicing, suspension adjustments, and hydraulic repairs effectively. Knowledge of OEM specifications for various brands including Caterpillar and other major manufacturers. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy equipment safely; valid certifications in forklift operation or heavy equipment operation are advantageous. Strong commitment to safety standards and quality workmanship in all maintenance tasks.
